In Wednesday's news, after a long summer of suspense, Liverpool have finally completed the signing of Alberto Moreno from Sevilla.

Moreno has been on the Reds' radar for some time, and it was only until he was not named in Sevilla's squad for the Uefa Super Cup clash against Real Madrid last night that it became evident he was destined for Anfield.

Title rivals Manchester United have dropped their pursuit of Juan Cuadrado and are now hoping to sign Argentina international Marcos Rojo, offering Sporting Lisbon £15 million for the left-back.

Elsewhere, there are reports that Arsenal are eyeing up a bid for Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas. Arsene Wenger is keen to replace Thomas Vermaelen, who left for Barcelona last weekend after five years with the Gunners.

Southampton have agreed to sign Shane Long from Hull for £12 million. It's welcome news for Saints fans, who have seen many of their star players leave the club this summer.

Lastly, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to reduce their squad size down to 25 players. Manager Mauricio Pochettino and the club’s chairman Daniel Levy are trying to get rid of at least five players.
