Game of Thrones star Indira Varma has said she is sick in bed with coronavirus.

The actor, who is currently starring alongside former co-star Emilia Clarke in a West End production of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, revealed the news on Instagram.

“I’m in bed with it and it’s not nice,” she said “Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people.”

Varma, whose other credits include Luther and Carnival Row, appeared in the HBO series as Ellaria Sand.

She becomes the second Thrones actor to contract the illness, which is causing cities across the world to go into national lockdown.

Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane, revealed he tested positive for coronavirus, which led to Netflix carrying out a “deep clean” of the set of his new show The Witcher.

Other celebrities to have tested positive for coronavirus include Varma’s Luther co-star Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, Olga Kurylenko and Frozen 2 star Rachel Matthews.
