Windsor Castle

Description

Windsor Castle offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out, all on one site. A visit to the Castle includes the magnificent State Apartments. Which are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection. Among the masterpieces are paintings by Holbein, Rubens and Van Dyck, fine English and French furniture, and the tiny treasures of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.

During the winter months, the sumptuous private apartments created by George IV, the Semi-State rooms are added to the visitor route.

Please note: that admission to Windsor Castle is busiest immediately after opening and throughout the morning. We recommend you arrive after midday if possible.

Semi-State Rooms will be closed:

13th December 2019

Windsor Castle will be closed on the following dates:

25 & 26 December 2019; 6 – 17 January 2020; 9 April 2020

Windsor Castle will close early on the following dates:

16 December 2019 (last admission 2pm, last admission to State Apartments 2:30pm, closes 3pm)

St George’s Chapel closed:

13 December 2019 (closes 3:30pm)

23-24 December 2019 (closes at 1pm)

Queen Mary's Dolls' House

Please note that due to work being undertaken, as part of Future Programme, Queen Mary's Dolls' House at Windsor Castle will be closed to visitors from Friday, 6 July 2018, until further notice.
